U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Information

The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, was established by Congress in 1939 to assist the Coast Guard in promoting boating safety. It boasts nearlty 33,000 members from all walks of life who receive special training so that they may be a functional part of Team Coast Guard. Auxiliarists assist the Coast Guard in non-law enforcement programs such as public education, vessel safety checks, safety patrols, search and rescue, marine environmental protection and Coast Guard Academy introduction programs for youth. Auxiliarists volunteer more than 2 million hours annually to benifit other boaters and their families.

About Our Division/Flotilla

Flotilla 32 serves the Tri-City (Petersburg, Hopewell, and Colonial Heights) area Virginia. Flotilla 32 has members involved in many facets of Coast Guard programs. Our Flotilla is well rounded in Operations, both surface and air, Public education, Vessel Safety Checks, and many other programs. The territories we cover include the Chesapeake Bay, James River, Appomattox River, and Lake Chesdin.

Flotilla Meetings
Flotilla 32 meets at 7 p.m. on the 3rd Monday of each month.
